…who once found herself hitting the pause button on her ambitions as a military wife. With ten moves in 20 years, I've unpacked and repacked my dreams from Germany to Hawai’i, England to Italy, and the hustle and bustle of D.C., collecting experiences along the way.
I’ll confess: the military life threw curveballs my way—fleeting friendships lasting shorter than a Netflix series, constant chaos, and the kind of loneliness that seeps into your bones. In those early years, the idea of divorce lingered if my husband didn't exit the Navy within our first four years. Don’t get me wrong, he’s a great guy, but I had no idea what the military life would be like.
Amidst this whirlwind, a deep desire emerged—to be a mom. Yet, the journey towards motherhood became a bittersweet struggle. Infertility cast a shadow over my dreams, making me question my worth and leaving me feeling like a failure.
What I thought would be a straightforward path to motherhood turned into a complex and emotional journey. It was a period of profound self-reflection, facing moments where the future felt uncertain, and my dreams seemed distant.
In the midst of these challenges, a glimmer of hope emerged in the form of a Hollywood opportunity. Becoming a featured extra not only bolstered my confidence but also reignited a spark that infertility had dampened for far too long. Through years of grappling with questions, enduring attempts, and facing heartbreak, my confidence had been on life support, and my dreams felt as distant as the oceans we had crossed.

Little opportunities linked to greater and greater responsibility.
Thinking outside the box became my mantra. I created an internship serving a prominent colonel at the support base while my husband was stationed in England. Working forty hours a week for six months…for free. Not a dime, not a pound, not a shilling for my service. Just hoping to get a commendation for a greater opportunity in D.C. Little opportunities linked to greater and greater responsibility. Suddenly, prime ministers, dignitaries, and even the President of the United States acknowledged the confidence and passion for my job that had evolved from years of feeling like a failure.
Yet, amidst these professional triumphs, the struggle with infertility persisted. I found myself confronting the stark reality that some dreams were beyond my control.
Then, as life often unfolds in unexpected ways, pregnancy graced me with twin baby girls. The journey to becoming a mom, fraught with challenges, became an opportunity to create my own magic and redefine my dreams.
